Application Instructions

If you are planning on applying, feel free to let us know via email, phone, or by using the contact us form below. Then we can connect and assist you through the process.

Please proceed with the following steps to apply:

1. Make sure you meet the prerequisites found on the details page.

2. Fulfill our volunteer application requirements by January 25, 2025. They can be found by clicking the apply now button on Crowsnest Lake Bible Camp’s website: https://crowcamp.ca/volunteer. Ensure you also fill out the COLTS supplemental questions as part of the application.

3. Wait to be contacted for a video interview in January/February.

4. Wait to be contacted on February 8, 2025 whether you are accepted into COLTS.

Important information when applying:

-Applications are reviewed on an individual case-by-case basis. Should you not be accepted this year, we always welcome applications in the following years.

-If the deadline has passed or you are 18 years old, you are welcome and encouraged to apply but you will get second priority.

-The Standard First Aid (SFA) certificate prerequisite timeline is for the start of the program. It is very common for people to apply without having their SFA, knowing they can obtain it if they get accepted. We also run a SFA course the few days before the start of COLTS in April every year.

-Have you checked out the program details and syllabus? Find it here

-Feel free to check out the list of required gear and sample course schedule before you apply.

-The fees work as follows:

Two-month option (May and June):
The fees for this option are $8,700.00.
Click here for a breakdown on course fees.

Four-month option (May, June, July, and August):
The fees for this option are waived (free) since students are volunteering their time to lead trips for the summer.

*We generally encourage students to opt for the four-month option that is free since it helps solidify the learning from training. The experiential nature of leading trips in the summer for CLBC is where most of the learning happens, and CLBC is always in need of qualified and competent volunteers. The two-month option (for a fee) is a great way for students to take their learning to another organization that needs qualified and competent backpacking leaders. Price flexibility is available for those needing assistance.

**Fees include: tuition, food, accommodation, equipment usage, certificate and licensing fees, books and materials, and transportation to/from program events. Click here for a breakdown on course fees.

***The Lanea Schroeder Scholarship is available for those pursuing the two-month option. See here.
